Service provider

Also called: corporate service provider, virtual office provider

A business that provides services an Estonian company needs, such as a legal address, a contact person, accounting and tax filing.

On this site, a service provider means a business that helps an Estonian company meet its local obligations. Typical services are a legal address, a contact person, bookkeeping, tax returns and the annual report.

A company run from outside Estonia needs one of these locally: an Estonian legal address or, if the company’s address is abroad, a contact person. The e-Residency programme says to get them from licensed service providers. Trust and company services need an authorisation from Estonia’s Financial Intelligence Unit, and valid authorisations can be searched in the Register of Economic Activities. The programme’s Marketplace lists providers.

Providers range from independent accountants to services that bundle several of these, such as Xolo. Scope, price and response times differ, so compare what is included rather than the name. What to look for in an Estonian accounting service provider lists the questions to ask. The cost calculator shows how a plan affects your yearly costs.
